Aguaje Palm Sand Trap on the Amazon Golf Course, Iquitos Peru
Aguaje Palm Trees make the background for this sand trap on the Amazon Golf Course
Imagine this beautiful scene without the Aguaje Palm trees for the background. We don’t want that. We are planting small clumps of several species of palms around the Amazon Golf Course to create a jungle garden effect. The palms will make the course more attractive for humans, birds and wildlife.
The Aguaje fruit is an important food source for wildlife and humans. Did you know the aguaje fruit has the highest concentration of Beta Carotene (vitamin A) of any edible fruit, five times more than carrots or spinach? More species eat aguaje than any other fruit in the Amazon jungle.
If we landscape in 2,000 trees, blooming bushes and shrubs, the Amazon Golf Course can be one of the most uniquely beautiful golf courses in the world. Trees, bushes and shrubs grow really fast here in the jungle. We could see dramatic results in just two years.
